Literaturhaus Villa Augustin  

Der Förderverein für das Erich Kästner Museum / Dresdner Literaturbüro e.V. hat mit dem Einzug in die Villa Augustin einen ideal gelegenen, durch die Verknüpfung mit dem Schriftsteller Erich Kästner authentischen Standort im Herzen der Dresdner Neustadt gefunden. Seit 15 Jahren wird hier nachhaltige Literaturvermittlungsarbeit in die Mitte der Gesellschaft hinein betrieben. Das ergonomische Literaturhaus mit Museum, Shop, Lesecafé und Veranstaltungsbetrieb hat sich zum Anziehungspunkt für Touristen und zum Treffpunkt für vielfältige Akteure der Dresdner Literatur- und Kulturszene entwickelt.

Tagsüber wird das Obergeschoss als Leseoase, literarisches Entdeckungsfeld und als Arbeitsraum für Schreibende, Schüler und Studenten genutzt. Am Wochenende finden Schreibwerkstätten, Workshops und Vereinssitzungen statt. Abends wird ein vielfältiges Veranstaltungsprogramm mit hauseigenen Reihen und zunehmend auch Aktivitäten Dritter angeboten. Dazu zählen Einzellesungen, szenische Lesungen, literarisch-musikalische Veranstaltungen, Ausstellungsprojekte, interkulturelle Schreibwerkstätten, literaturhistorische Vorträge, Filmabende, Performances und vieles mehr. Ein Publikum unterschiedlicher Generationen und heterogener literarischer Interessen erlebt druckfrische lokale, nationale und internationale Literatur, ihre Entstehungsprozesse und -bedingungen sowie ihre Autoren. Angeboten werden hochwertige Literaturpräsentationen, bei vielem kann man aber auch selbst mitmachen. Autoren aus der Region sind uns ebenso willkommen wie die internationalen Größen der Gegenwartsliteratur. Interessierte Bürger, Nachwuchstalente und aktive Autoren finden hier eine Plattform zum freien Ideen- und Gedankenaustausch. Wir richten den Blick auf übergeordnete kulturelle Daten und Ereignisse, auf Merkmale des gesellschaftlichen Wandels und auf internationale Kulturpflege.

The BARDINALE is an event organized by the Literaturhaus Villa Augustin in Dresden. Together with the Erich Kästner Museum we are located in the villa of Erich Kästner's uncle Franz Augustin at the Albertplatz.

By moving into the Villa Augustin, the Support Association for the Erich Kästner Museum/ Dresdner Literaturbüro e.V. has found an ideal and, with its connection to the writer Erich Kästner, authentic place in the heart of Dresden's Neustadt. For 15 years we have been working on passing on literature into the middle of society. The ergonomic literary office with museum, shop, reading café and event office has developed into a tourist attraction and meeting point for manifold characters of Dresden's literature and cultural scene.

During the day the upper floor is used as a reading oasis, literary discovery space and study for writers, pupils and students. At the weekends there are writing workshops and club sessions. In the evenings there is a diverse event programme with our own book series and activities of third parties. Among them are readings, scenic readings, literary-historical lectures, film nights, performances and many more. An audience of different generations and heterogeneous literary interests experiences the latest local, national and international literature, its development processes and conditions as well as its authors. We offer high quality literary presentations, but you can play an active role in many of them, too. Regional authors are as welcome as internationally important figures of contemporary literature. Here, interested citizens, offspring talents and active authors will find a platform for free exchange of ideas and thoughts. We focus on paramount cultural facts and events, on characteristics of societal change and international preservation of culture.
